PLEASE NOTE:  We have two locations in Crane Lake.  One location, the main resort - Pine Point Lodge, is located about 5 minutes from our parking area and is only accessible by boat.  No roads or cars.  The second location, Lakeview Motel and Lakeview House is the parking area for the main resort and is located at 7533 Gold Coast Rd, Crane Lake, MN.  We have a boat launch there along with dock slips.  It is this location in which we pick up guests to bring out to the main resort.  Use this address for your GPS for getting to Pine Point Lodge, Lakeview Motel or the Lakeview House.

Getting Here and What to Bring:

 

Q: What should I bring?

 A)  The evenings can get chilly in Northern Minnesota, even in the summer. Make sure you bring warm clothes and sturdy shoes.

How do we reach you when we get into Crane Lake?

A)  Drive to 7533 Gold Coast Road, if you have cellphone service call us at 218-993-2311; if you do not have cellphone service, use the red phone at the Motel.  Pick up the hand set, it will automatically dial us. No coins are needed.  If you are staying at the main resort, off load your gear on one of the docks, and we will come over and pick you up.  Otherwise, you may check into the home or the rooms after talking with us.  If you have your own boat, you may launch it as well.   We can boat over for you to follow us back if necessary.

 

Q)  Is the parking area safe?

A)  Yes, there is a business right there and people who live there 24/7.

 

Q)  Do cell phones work?

A)  Yes, however, up the lake it may be less accessible.

Q) What number is the best to leave with my family or friends?  Can I call them from Pine Point?

A) They may call and leave messages at (218) 993-2311.  Messages are brought to your rental unit immediately.  We do have a courtesy phone in the main lodge for outgoing calls.  There is no charge for long distance calls made in the US.  The lodge is open from 7 am – 10:30 until August 1st and then closes at 10 pm after that date.

 

Q) What address do I use if I need to mail packages, my rods, luggage, etc. to Pine Point?

A)  Use:  Pine Point Lodge, ATTENTION:  your name, 7533 Gold Coast Road, Crane Lake MN  55725.  Keep in mind that if your package is to arrive on a Saturday, odds are that we may not get it until Monday – so plan accordingly.

 

Cottages/Rooms and Amenities:

 

Q)  What is provided with the cottage?

A)  An excellent lakeshore location, comfortable beds, all cottage offer at least one king bed option, and most beds are extra-long.  Other items provided are bed linens, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee filters and kitchen dish soap – you will need to bring personal bath and kitchen towels.  There are charcoal BBQ grills and deck furniture for each cottage as well. Note that we sell charcoal here for the grills if you don’t want to bring it.

 

What is provided in the Lakeview Motel and Penthouse rooms? 

A)  Each room has a compact refrigerator, air conditioning, microwave, your choice of either two twin beds or one king bed, and some have TVs.   You will need to bring towels for your Penthouse room. Towels are provided for the Lakeview Motel rooms.  There is an outdoor gas grilling area for all rooms.  The Lakeview Motel has a fire ring by the waterfront along with outdoor furniture.

 

Q)  What’s provided in the cottage kitchens?

A)  New full size refrigerators, full sized stoves, new pots and pans, kitchenware, cups, glasses, automatic Bunn coffee makers, 4 slice toasters, miscellaneous items such as cork screws, ice cream scoops, spatulas, etc.

 

Q)  Is the cabin on the water?

A)  Yes, all cottages are on the water and have their own dock slips, with bumpers, and electricity.  No charge for dock slips.

 

Rooms?

A)  Our motel rooms are all on the water and have their own dock slips.  The penthouse rooms are centrally located with a second floor view of the lake.  They have dock slips with bumpers and electricity provided as well.  No charge for dock slips.

Q)  What time is check in and check out?

A)  Check in time is 3 p.m. and check out is 9 a.m.

 

Q)  Is there a good supermarket in Crane Lake or Orr or nearby?

A)  There is a grocery store in Orr.  They have a good line of grocery items.  Deli and specialty items are available at the larger grocery stores located in Cook, 45 minutes away or in Virginia MN, which is about an hour and twenty minutes driving from Crane Lake.

 

 

Q)  What is available at the main lodge?

A)  A smaller version of a grocery store  provides basic groceries such as milk, eggs, bread, sliced cheese, and dry goods; a tackle store;  a pool table, additional games and  playing cards; an additional shower facility; a snack bar with frozen pizza cooked along with microwave sandwiches; beverages – pop, water, juice, beer; WIFI, copier; fishing licenses, maps, apparel, souvenirs, and hiking trail information.

Q)  Do you have bait and ice?

A)  Yes, we have both regular and crappie minnows, night crawlers, and leeches.  We sell 5# and 10# bags of ice.

 

Q)  Do you sell fishing licenses?

A)  Yes, we sell resident and non-residential fishing and hunting licenses.  Canadian fishing licenses are required to fish in Canadian waters.   

 

Boats:

 

Q)  Do you have rental boats? 

A) Yes, we have new boats that include:  25’ pontoon boats with 115 or 150 hp motors, 18’ Lund fishing boats with 115 hp motors, and 16’ Lund fishing boats with 50 hp 4 stroke motors.  All have GPS, depth finders, live wells, pedestal seats, anchors, running lights, landing nets, and life vests.  The pontoon boats have additional lounge seating and canopy tops.

 

Q)  On the rental boats, how big are the gas tanks?  Will I run out of gas?

A)  The 25’ Pontoon boat has a 29 gallon tank; 18' fishing boats have 29 gallon tanks, Deluxe have two 6 gallon tanks.   The bigger boats average use of gas is 5 – 7 gallons per day and on the two 6 gallon boats, the average us is about 2-4 gallons.  At check-in we go through a detailed map with information about how much gas it takes to get to and from various destinations.

 

Q) Can I bring my own boat?

A)  Yes you may.  There is no charge for your dock slip.  It has bumpers and electricity to charge your boat battery.

                          

Q)  Where do I get gas for my boat?

A)  We sell premium gas here along with mixed gas.

 

Q)  Can I charge my boat battery?

A)  Yes, all docks are equipped with electricity.  There is no fee for charging your boat.

 

Is a dock slip provided?

A)  Yes, each cottage or room has a dock slip which has bumpers and electricity – no fee for either.  Additional dock slips are available for additional boats if needed.

 

 

The Crane Lake Area

 

Q)  Is there anywhere to go for a meal or a few drinks?

A)  Pine Point has an awesome frozen pizza along with beverages at the main lodge.  The Town of Crane Lake has three restaurants and lounges. If you don’t want to drive your boat across the lake, one of the dock staff will be happy to give you a shuttle over or back until our docks close at 10:30 pm or 10 pm after August 1st.
